STEM CELLS
Adult stem cells have the unique ability to generate a range of specialised cell types to regenerate tissue. Adult equine mesenchymal stem cells hold the promise of being able to regenerate horse tendons and ligaments offering an opportunity to return to a functional tendon or ligament, as opposed to one compromised by the presence of scar tissue.
Vet Biotechnology’s technology was developed by leading researchers at the Royal Veterinary College of London.
Vet Biotechnology currently offers the stem cell therapy to horse owners in Australia under a permit from the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA). The services are only available through a veterinarian trained by Vet Biotechnology.
